Bruce Eric Sampson

SUMMARY

With a B.A. in Print Journalism, Bruce has become a multi-dimensional educator, director and producer who has taught all over the United States – including 3 years as an adjunct professor at The Young Americans College of the Performing Arts in Corona, CA. He has been teaching and directing internationally since 2009 as Associate Director for The Young Americans International Music Outreach Tours (U.S., U.K., Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa and Japan) and as part of his own Believe Performing Arts Experience projects in China.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Believe Performing Arts Experience – (Louisiana/Mississippi/Florida/China)

Founder and President of a performing arts workshop and camp series in Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, California, and multiple cities in China.

 

Associate Director/Guest Director(2008 - Present)

The Young Americans - California

Has served as director on numerous national and international music outreach tours for the internationally-acclaimed performance group, The Young Americans.  Wrote and directed camp show and curriculum for 2021 Summer Camps in Northern Michigan. He has also contributed to the group by writing original performance pieces and choral arrangements.

President (July 2007 – Present)

ICON Performing Arts  – Louisiana/California

Responsible for shaping direction of the organization; producing educational outreach programs and workshops, as well as after-school programs throughout Southern CA.  The creator and producer of SOCAL ICON, Southern California’s largest and most successful, long-running singing competition for youth.

 

President (July 2005 – July 2007)

Kaleidoscope Arts Factory – Corona, CA

Director of non-profit organization with primary focus on arts education for youth. Duties included: curriculum development, afterschool programs and educational initiatives.

 

Editorial Coordinator (June 1999- July 2005)

Yahoo!/Overture - Pasadena, CA

Workload distribution, reporting and analysis - Supervising, writing, editing, coaching and training editorial staff of over 90. (Four promotions since hire)

 

On-Air Personality and Talk Show Host (1996 - 1999)

WBOX-AM/FM – Bogalusa, Louisiana

Hosted a weekly talk show with call-ins and interviews. Co-host of a morning-drive show. Duties included news writing, editing, research and production.
